RC Locos Summer Super Show Proves Great Craftsmanship Comes in Every Scale

When people hear "RC cars," many immediately think of toys. Spend a few minutes at the RC Locos Summer Super Show, however, and you'll quickly realize this community is operating on an entirely different level.

Episode 3 of Milwaukee Motor Channel After Dark takes viewers inside one of Milwaukee's most unique automotive gatherings, where scale-model builders showcase miniature versions of the same creativity and craftsmanship found throughout full-size custom vehicle culture.

Hosted by Milwaukee's RC Locos chapter, the Summer Super Show brings together builders whose passion for detail rivals that of professional fabricators. Working hydraulic lowriders, drifting cars, custom motorcycles, big-wheel builds, and beautifully restored classics demonstrate just how advanced the hobby has become.

Chapter President Tony Angeles welcomes Milwaukee Motor Channel and explains the mission of the RC Locos organization. More than simply collecting model cars, members design, fabricate, paint, wire, and engineer functioning miniature vehicles capable of hopping, steering, drifting, and performing many of the same tricks seen in full-size lowrider competitions.

Throughout the documentary, viewers discover that many of these projects require hundreds of hours of work. Custom paint, intricate interiors, suspension systems, lighting, miniature engines, and scale accessories all contribute to builds that blur the line between hobby and fine craftsmanship.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of the event is watching spectators realize these aren't static display pieces. Many of the vehicles feature fully functioning hydraulic systems, remote-controlled steering, working lights, realistic suspension movement, and astonishing levels of detail that reward a closer look.

The show also highlights the welcoming nature of Milwaukee's custom vehicle community. Experienced builders openly share techniques, answer questions, and encourage newcomers to participate, creating an environment where knowledge is passed from one generation of enthusiasts to the next.

As with every Milwaukee Motor Channel After Dark documentary, Episode 3 isn't simply about documenting beautiful vehicles—it's about preserving the stories, friendships, and passion that continue shaping custom vehicle culture throughout the Midwest.

Whether you're an RC enthusiast, a lowrider fan, or simply appreciate incredible craftsmanship, the RC Locos Summer Super Show proves that automotive artistry comes in every size.

Milwaukee Motor Channel thanks Tony Angeles and the RC Locos Milwaukee Chapter for welcoming us and allowing us to document another unique part of Midwest custom vehicle culture.
